Why can't you quote?

Called MTN service and repair centre to get an indication of the cost to replace the charge/data port on my Samsung phone smart phone. They cannot give me a price, the phone has to be assessed first. I know what the problem is, I know what caused it. There is nothing else wrong with the phone.

Simple to give me a price so I can decide whether it is worth repairing. Cover yourself by stating that price excludes any other fault or work required. I am not happy with having to drive to the centre to find out what the cost will be.

1. What does the replacement port cost (include the ribbon cable if you have to). 2. How long to dismantle, replace reassemble and test. The cost is 1 plus 2 plus VAT. Include Ts&Cs to cover your.

At least the call centre phone was answered quickly.
