(22nd March 2013) I renewed my Vodacom contract at Cellucity Cavendish. With my previous contract I was paying R150 p/m, but decided to increase it to R360 so I could get a better device, hopefully with no problems. I previously had the blackberry curve 8520 and it had to be returned for repairs on 3 occasions during my 2 year contract, leaving me without a phone for 4-6 weeks at a time. I was strongly reluctant to get another blackberry product but was informed by the sales assistant that that was the best that was available to me at the time and for the amount that I could afford to pay. I asked her if she had had any problems with the Blackberry 9790 Bold-She assured me that she had had none. I started to notice that there was an issue with the sound quality, but because I didn't know the phone, I passed it off as a setting problem. This problem proceed to get worse, so I took it back on the 12th day and was told it would be sent away for repairs. It is not acceptable for me to have to accept that a brand new device has to be repaired after 12 days! According to Sunet Strydom, customer liaison manager (repairs) I have to accept this for the next 2 years! No recourse on my part.
