I am an MWeb customer and pay R900 per month for a 4Mbps line. My wife and I are avid gamers hence the need for a fast internet connection. We have been phoning MWeb at least twice a month since the beginning of 2013 complaining about low download speeds as well as high latency/ ping. When we are lucky we get a speed of 2Mbps on our line. Needless to say that as paying customers we have now come to our wits end and thus have been trying to sort this problem out ourselves as MWeb is obviously incapable of doing their job.
MWeb is passing the buck saying that it is a Telkom problem, but never seem to follow up. Telkom is blaming Rynfield's exchange server saying that it is overloaded and that there are no ports open. This to me seems a tad he said she said as somewhere a long the line one of these service providers should be busy upgrading their systems. Had this excuse been used in my line of work I would have been fired by now.
I would like a proper response from both of these companies with a solution to my problem, and a speedy one at that, as well as an apology for taking my money every month and not delivering on their service.
