I logged a call with Telkom on 18 March 2013 because our Internet was down.(We only use our line for ADSL) It is now 10 April and the issue has still not been fixed. The person I just spoke to on the call centre, Kamu?? just told me that they cannot tell me when the line will be fixed but that their SLA is 2 - 5 working days. What a joke! Yesterday I plugged in a phone to test if there is a dial tone and there was none. No-one has come to my house and no-one has once called, we have only received sms's to say that the call has been resolved, when obviously it has not. Excuses we have had range from them upgrading the exchange to them telling me that there is a problem with our Internet Service providor. I just asked to be put through to accounts for a refund for the last 3 weeks and to cancel my account, but after being on hold for 15 minutes I hung up. South Africa is at a serious competitive disadvantage to the rest of the work having 1 network operator that is wholly incompetent. Amazing how hard it is to have a "Basic" service like ADSL fixed in SA thanks to Telkom.
