No ADSL, no ticket response, unhelpful staff

I have signed up for ADSL with Telkom over a month ago. Service worked at first for a week or so but was very slow. Logged ticket around 19 March for slow speeds. Worked on and off. since April 2nd ADSL does not work at all. Called daily and call centre does the same troubleshooting each time until they determine that there is a fault on the ADSL line, usually followed by there is a fault in my area that is impacting many customers, and they say that they will escalate to the technician. Nothing is ever fixed, no updates to my ticket, no nothing. So for my one month with Telkom it has been slower than dial up speeds and now it does not even work.

Today asked to speak to someone that could help, like a supervisor. The agent just put me on hold, where I sat for 7 minutes. I am tired of calling over and over and over and over and getting no resolution. I can do the troubleshooting steps myself now.

All I want to know is if there is a fault in the area what needs to be done to fix it and when will it be fixed? I am not asking much - just someone to tell me when my ADSL and internet will work, and that it will work routinely. Telkom is the ISP.
