I bought my phone through MTN DIRECT on the 31/10/2012, yesterday i did a software upgrade and now my phone has been stuck on "backing up data". I called customer care and was told that if i go to the service centre they will be able to re load the software. I get to the Clearwater service Centre the sales consultant advised that the technician is on leave she can only book the fone for an assessment of which i will only get it back within 7-12 days, my phone is still covered under 6 months warranty according to the service pamphlets they have in the store I qualify for for a swop phone which i point out to her and she tells me MTN doesn't do that? So i give her the papers I received when the phone was delivered and she tells me she needs the box as well??? this was never explained to me and i find it to be a dis service to customers 1.not to have a relief technician to assist 2. to have incompetent staff who do not explain all the details of the contract. For one to find out such critical information upon taking the phone is ridiculous and unacceptable. In the meantime i am liable to pay for the contract of which service I cannot access. This is not acceptable
