False advertising on R699 ADSL promotion

I recently took Telkom up on it's R699 ADSL bundle offer which according to the sales department consisted of a 2mb ADSL line with 10 GB per month, free modem, landline rental and 10GB per month 8ta with free dongle.

My line and modem were installed promptly and I was told to go to my nearest Telkom shop to collect my dongle. On arrival at the shop in Greenstone I was informed by Pamela that the 8ta 10GB per month was subject to a 24 month contract. Nowhere on the brouchure does it state this, and a call to 10210 confirmed that there was no contract on the deal.

I tried to phone the Telkom head Office in Pretoria (012) 311-7743 for clarification but there was no answer!

THIS IS TERRIBLE MARKETING AND I WOULD ADVISE PEOPLE NOT TO TOUCH THESE PROMOTIONS.

This is a matter for the Advertising Standards Authority.
