On 21/02/2013 Telkom's telesales department phoned me and told me that my 2 year ADSL contract with them expires and I have to renew my contract. I will get a free modem and 1 month's free ADSL and an upgrade on my service for the same amount I'm currently paying each month. They will contact me in a couple of day to fetch my modem from the nearest branch. I took the deal and got an SMS from them that reads "Ref: 638818 - 2013/02/21 Thank you for your purchase from Telkom SA, your order will be processed shortly. Contact us on 0800001830 if you have a query related to the purchase." After a week I went to the branch, they didn't have a modem for me. I phoned them after another week and they still didn't have one for me, so I decided I'll wait and see what happens. Today I phoned the number on the SMS. It's the technical support number not the sales or orders department, they had to transfer me. Sales department lady tells my there is no such order; after 2 months of waiting it seems my order dissapeared. Poof - gone! My contract has not been renewed, but she assures me my contract doesn't need a renewal. Now I'm sitting here wondering was that salestalk just sales lying?
