My son has a blackberry through MTN, under my husbands details. At about the beginning of March 2013 we took his phone in as he was unable to connect to BIS for about a period of three weeks. We took it to Mall @ Reds MTN Branch, Centurion. We were informed by a staff member that they would have to security wipe the phone. This was done and BIS was still unattainable. They then checked the system and saw that the BIS had been disconnected. they could not find by whom. I was told that as BIS had fallen away they had to connect Social and E-mail service. I found out from 2 other cellular companies that only new contracts had to apply for this. I phoned MTN Customer Care on the 22-03-2013, security check was done with my husband. we asked them to reinstall the original BIS as our 24mth contract had not run its term. We were given a reference number. I phoned again on the 25-03-2013, security check done with my husband, and still nothing had been done. I was given another reference number, where I requested that the original BIS be installed. This matter is still unresolved and I would rather cancel the contract due to Breach of Contract on MTN's side.
