I have had a contract with MTN since 1997. I have been on the top plan since 2005. Recently Aug 2012, my monthly account went from & avg of R1500-R1700/month it climbed to R1900 then R1950 then R2100 then R2300 then R2400. At the same time the signal was intermittent, my calls would get cut off almost every call & I would have to phone back, I mentioned this when making my complaint, on my itemised billing you can clearly see that each call have at least 2-3 calls made to the same number within a few mins, I queried this increase in charges with MTN store in Ballito Lifestyle center & they logged a complaint, I did not hear anything back & eventually called the call center & advised that the logged complaint was not done correctly & he said he logged it again for investigation & someone would get back to me. I was not called back so phoned the call center & was advised that the network dept had refered the complaint to billing dept, I then went to the store to upgrade & renew my contract and was told that MTN had advised that I was liable for all call charges & said I made all the calls as listed on the itemised billing, since the networks improvment my account had decreased.
