On the 11th March 2013, my ADSL failed. I called my ISP (MWeb), they said that I must check my modem. I tested 2 different modems and by Wednesday the 13th March I officially logged a fault with Telkom via my ISP. Telkom needed to check my DSL line for faults. After several phones calls to Telkom to find out when an agent would be sent out to my home to test the line, on Thursday the 21st March 2013 was the first time a technician contacted me. He was shocked that it had taken so long for a technician to assist me. He checked my line from my home, reset the port and still no DSL. He then proceeded to go and check my data port at the exchange. He informed me that the data port I was assigned was dead and that there were no available ports to re-assign to me. He told me that he has reported this fault to the D-Tech department of Telkom. I am still waiting to hear from Telkom regarding this fault. I am a web designer and require the internet for my business. For two weeks my business has taken a loss. For 9 months, I had uninterrupted ADSL, but since the 11th March 2013... zero connection. This is simply unacceptable.
