I called Vodacom to request documentation to transfer my cell phone number into my name, from my recently deceased fathers name. The operator tells me yes he will send the documents, and NOT freeze my number as I will be able to complete the transfer before the account is rejected in my fathers name. With that I requested banking details in order to pay the outstanding balances. He sent me a reference number, but no banking details what so ever! Instead of sending me the requested forms, the operator freezes and cancels my account. He then transfers me to the legal department, and after being on the phone with them for more than an hour, not one of them could assist me, or they kept cancelling my call! Now I can not use my phone at all! How am I supposed to organise and contact people about my deceased father, if I do not have a phone! When calling them back a few hours later, the new operator agreed that the first operator should not have cancelled the account as I was in the process of transferring it! How is it that these people do not understand any English or instructions for that matter, and yet they are working with customers who need help!
