I applied for Telkom Internet in November 2012. I was advised to also apply for a landline. Only the landline ever worked, the internet has never worked. I reported this to them many-a-times with no joy. I was unfortunately hospitalised for 3 months after that. When I was discharged, I found that I was billed for both landline and internet. I did pay for the landline, which was suspended during my illness and was promised that it would be reconnected but that has never happened, 3 weeks later. I once again reported this but nothing is happening, instead the bill keeps rising. They always promise to investigate but if I don't call them, I never hear from them. I was also promised that if the problem is not solved, they would send a technician to establish whether the equipment was actually correctly installed because that could the cause of the problem. After giving them 3 alternative cell numbers to send the pin/password SMS to, I am still waiting. I then asked them to come and take out their equipment. I would like Telkom to tell me if this is legal or if poor service is the way they make their money? I still have medical bills to pay, cannot afford to sponsor them!
