Last Sunday at the 8ta Sandton City branch I commenced with the convoluted process of purchasing a wifi unit. Eventually the person assisting me said that he would call me when he was ready to proceed as the systems were very slow. When I returned, I stood for an hour without any progress. He then promised to call me with the necessary "security" questions during the course of the afternoon. I did not hear from him. Nor did I hear from him on Monday. Eventually I went back to 8ta on Tuesday and the staff member was off. No attempt had been made to handover my file to another staff member. I then stood for another hour while the paper work was completed. When I got home, the signal of the unit was not working. So back I had to go today to 8ta only to find out that the second staff member who assisted my had forgotten to activate the sim. Poor service.
Whilst I was there waiting, another client came in with an new iphone that he had purchased three days before. The phone was not working and he was then advised that it is policy to send the unit away which would take three week! Why was he not told that when he purchased it? Poor policies. Poor service.
