Vodacom
Incompetence and unauthorised debit orde

Telecommunications

I ordered a Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 from Vodacom, and cancelled the agreement within 4 days (the allowed time frame in which to cancel is 14 days). Vodacom confirmed cancellation and advised that the device will be collected from me, within 7 days. Its 5 weeks later and I'm still in possession of the device, despite several calls and emails to them (I spoke to Johannes, Giselle, Dino and eventually, Paul in Sales). Their service is atrocious - especially after I eventually started dealing with the SUPERVISOR - PAUL DA SILVA - who delivered NO service at all. My emails to him, to try and get them to collect their device, has gone unanswered since the 7th February. These were sent as replies on his email, in which he initially confirmed my cancellation, so I'm not using an incorrect email address. Today, they put through a debit order for this CANCELLED contract. When I queried the debit order with them, all I got was a stammering Paul da Silva, who 'kind of' remembers my query. I want this sorted out, but I have a feeling I'm going to have to go to the Consumer Protector to have it sorted - as Vodacom is obviously not interested in sorting it out!!
