MTN is ripping me off. charging me for a cancelled contract.

"I followed up with Morne, so far the outcome has been that they will cancel the contract with no credit being passed as you are going to keep the phone. I am not sure if this is 100% correct.
Morne, please can you send me the USD reply so that I can inform Brett." says Simone Redfern.

Simone, "Right,

I got hold of retentions again. The told me that it could got one of two ways.
1) To cancel the contract and you keep the phone and they will charge you early termination fees and a claw back handset fee. ( bad idea we told him)
2) To return the handset and they will credit back some of the money.
We are going to try something from our side, not sure if it will work but we are going to try and cancel it as a non calling sim stating that you have not got the handset that it was returned and if possible to credit your account.

Not sure what the outcome will be, but let us do it and then when we get an answer, we will let you know."

All of this after i told them to terminate the contract before they were able to activate it and i wanted to return the handset.

This is a rip off. Two years and many emails
