Renewed contact, faulty handset and cant cancel

I renewed my cell contact before the expiry of the contract. Contract expires in March and done a upgrade on 30 November. After 7 days handset was faulty on which Autopage contacted me to say I damaged the handset and need to pay for the repairs, Then the next day I was contacted to say the contacted the wrong customer!! Then I requested I want to cancel the contact as it has not expired yet and the handset was faulty. I was told I need a credit note number from the branch I done the upgrade from and once I have that I need to contact he retention department. When I got the credit note number, I contacted them and then I was told the branch needs to cancel the contract upgrade before they can cancel it at head office. I have contacted the branch again and was told to come in to discuss my options. They told me to pay up the full contact or take another phone to the same value. I was prepared to take another handset but then I was told I can not do it today as they need to get the new prices?? So does this mean anyone who goes today to the store for a contract has to wait for the new prices? Every year I need to upgrade I have issues & I have 3 contracts with Autopage for many years
