R8800 bill!!!

In December, I upgraded my software on my Blackberry. I check how much data an upgrade will use before I go ahead, because i know that the data charges are ridiculous once you reach your limit. Once I had upgraded and restarted my phone, ALL of my data was gone. About 2 days later, after rebooting my phone constantly to see if my data would come back, and checking that my bill had shot up to R1300, I called customer services to raise my concerns. I was simply told that a service call had been logged and someone would get back to me. I stated that it was urgent as I didnt want my bill to get any higher. After about 2 days, I called again, got the same response.
Eventually after a week of waiting, I checked my bill again. It was standing on around R8800!!! I called a third time, furious. Eventually I received a call back from someone who told me that there was an email in my outbox that was pending to be sent and that was why my data usage was so high. While we were on the phone I checked my phone, there was nothing pending anywhere. After an hour arguing, I was told I would be liable for R2500!?! I took my phone into Vodacom, they even told me there was nothing wrong from my side!!
