Problems with ADSL lines and no resolution

Good day,

After being on hold for an hour with my 3rd phone call to telkom, I was advised that there is a problem in the area and that they can not give me a time or date when it will be fixed.

I pay for a 4 meg line and run a home business. Today I had to pay staff to work, but no income could be generated as my line is a to slow and is delivering broken parcels. Telkom can not advise when this will be fixed, can I assume than I can deduct the "non service" from my bill?

I would also like to know who will be compensating me for loss of income. We were not informed of the "problem" on the lines and nor is anybody willing or able to fix it. It's impossible to get hold of a manager who can answer my questions and give me a resolution to my problem!

In the meantime Telkom expects me to wait it out and loose money on a daily basis till they can resolve the issue.

The agreement is I pay for a service. Please explain to me what service I'm getting? As I'm paying for no / poor service!!!
