MTN MISLEADS THEN FOLLOWS UP WITH MASSIVE BILL

I have been a loyal MTN customer almost since the introduction of cellphones in SA. When my contract was due for upgrade last year I went to the MTNSP store at the Pavilion and asked whether they could better or equal the special offer by Altech Autopage of R95/month for a BB9320. I was informed that the AA contract was limited to 45MB of data a month whereas the MTNSP one specifically included UNLIMITED DATA DOWNLOADING, even though it cost double the price. Naturally I immediately signed up with MTNSP and used my phone for internet surfing and a fair amount of downloading without any problems, my bill being a constant R189/month until December 2012, when all of a sudden my account rocketed to over R2000 despite no major change in useage patterns! I made several queries in this regard to MTN online and each time a different person responded, always quoting some vague rule/s about downloading, but totally ignoring my complaint about being clearly misled by their employee/agent at the Pavilion Branch. I am now too afraid to even use my phone to look up a number or address as the airtime amount seems to mysteriously disappear whereas previously I had substantial credits.
