I have a 1.5 Gig datacontract (number 0795287972) with Vodacom. On the 8th of February I phoned Vodacom client services to ask them to put a R50 charge limit on the data account. I explained to the consultant that I want to give this datacard to my teenage son to use and want to take precautions to have the account cut off as soon as the account exceeds R50. I was assured by this consultant that this would be done and he lodged the call limit while I was holding on. After this call I handed the datacard to my son telling him that he can use it... obviously feeling safe in knowing that there is a call limit on the account and that I would not get any nasty surprises when I get my bill. On the 18th of March I received a sms that excess charges have been accumulated on the datacard. Charges exceedng R7000 was on the data account. On my enquiries about this..I was informed that they do not have record of the call I made to request the call limit! And was basically called a! I requested the call records on two of my cellphone accounts... they sent me call records that exclude calls made to the callcentre! They gave me a discount but I still had to pay over R3000. more...
