Call limit Data limit

Telecommunications

On Friday the 13th, I mistakenly put through data on my LTE connection as my AlwaysOn wifi connection wasn't working. A few months ago I put on a call limit to make sure I don't rake up a big bill.

The call limit did not work, I basically went over my call limit 5x within 3 hours. (Yeah, LTE is fast). The call limit did kick in eventually, but only much, much too late.

I've read the T&C's on call limit, and it says that it is not guaranteed. So I understand that technically, my bill is correct.

I logged a request to make an exception, to revert the data usage to in-bundle rates. Vodacom customer care just says there is no way that they can help me.

I have a question: Why can Vodacom so effectively cut off prepaid customers but not effectively implement a call limit for contract customers? In other words, Can I go and buy R100 worth of data and then quickly put through R1000 worth of data before they cut me off on prepaid? Based on this, I would like to pay for the data I used, but not at out-of-bundle rates.
