I signed a contract for the Smartplan100 with Telkom Mobile at the beginning of Jan14. I realised soon enough that I needed an sms bundle and so went into a Telkom Mobile store to buy one. I had to increase my spend limit (automatically set to R10) in order to load the R35 sms bundle.

Yesterday I was informed that my free minutes are finished. Unfortunately I underestimated how many I would need. I went through to the Telkom Mobile where I had signed my contract and enquired as to changing to a more expensive contract. I was told that I would have to give 30 days notice on the Smartplan100 to change to the Smartplan250. Since this would not immediately solve my problem I enquired about raising my spend limit again temporarily. I was informed that I would have to phone the Call Centre, which I did.

The Call Centre informed me that I could only increase my spend limit once a month. So I asked about buying some PrePaid airtime to tide me over until month end. I was told that wasn't an option on my contract.

So basically, I have no airtime until month end to run my small business with, and Telkom Mobile has no intention of helping me.

I'm going back to MTN :-(
