Vodacom
Data Contract Rip-off

Telecommunications

I have two Vodacom contracts; one for my smart phone and one for my i-Pad. Recently my i-Pad was and I don't intend replacing it in the near future. I enquired from Vodacom if they could link the 2Gb data bundle on my i-Pad contract to my Smart Phone contract. The short answer was NO! What they did advise was that I get a replacement SIM and insert this in my smart phone each time I wished to use the data bundle (a really wonderful and efficient customer experience).

What I can't understand is why a technologically advanced company like Vodacom, can't link two accounts and allow the transfer of data between handsets (this can't be rocket science). Obviously the profit motive prevails before the customer experience. I feel I'm being ripped-off by having to pay for a service I am unable to use and I can't be the only Vodacom customer facing this scenario.

Both my Vodacom contracts are up for renewal later this year and after 16 years as a Vodacom customer its time to move on.
