In November I requested for my ADSL line to be transferred from La Lucia in KZN to Ballito. I was assured by the call centre that this would not be a problem and that someone would contact me for installation. Despite this, no one ever contacted me, in fact I had to follow up on numerous occasions. Every time I spoke to someone the same issue came up - they could not locate my new property on their system. Eventually I was asked to provide co-ordinates of my property, which I did. I was then told that I would be contacted within a week to arrange installation. I have heard absolutely nothing from the call centre to date (almost 2 months later). I went into a Telkom store in Balito around 20 December to find out if they could help me. They said that the reason nothing had been done was due to 'lack of infrastructure' on my estate and that this would be rectified by the 15th of January. You can imagine my disgust when I returned on the 5th of Jan to follow up and was told that this had been moved to April. There are over 30 people waitlisted within my estate, I find it unacceptable that it will take so long for this to be rectified! In the meantime I have no way to run my business!
