Mtn
False Advertising - Consumer Protection Act

Telecommunications

About 3 weeks ago I went to MTN Woodlands were I saw on their display that they advertised the Anytime 200 contract for the new Sony Experia Z1 at R339.00. I informed them that I wanted the contract on which they advertised on their display, where upon that they do not have that contract and that the advertisement in the shop was a mistake. On the 30th of December 2013 I again went to MTN Woodlands, again I saw the same advertisement on display, I again informed them that I wanted the Anytime 200 contract with the Sony Experia Z1 which they advertised at R339.00, whereupon they informed me again that it is an error on their side that they I cannot have the contract as the price was incorrect. According to Consumer Protection Act I have the right to the lowest price advertised. Yet after informing the MTN employees hereof, they still do not want to give me the contract which THEY falsely advertised on their display. They thereafter immediately went and tipex out the lower price and wrote the correct higher price. I am lawfully entitle to the lower price as advertise yet MTN refuses to give same to me.
