False advertising!

Telecommunications

Hi I went down to Canal walk today to try open a new MTN anytime 200 top up contract for the Sony Xperia Z1. This contract is advertised nationwide in the MTN brochure for R399pm which includes R200 airtime, 25sms's & 200mb of data. When I arrived in store with all the necessary documents ready to port from my current Vodacom contract to MTN the consultant had informed me that the price advertised was incorrect and that the actual price is R439pm. She then went on to say that the R399pm contract advertised as the "top up 200" was actually an open line contract with only 150mb of data. The R439pm would be for the top up 200 which was all of a sudden also only offered with 150mb of data instead of the advertised 200mb.
I feel that if this is purely just a printing error surely we as customers should be notified about this before standing in stores wasting time. When i told the consultant they should at least put up a sign next to the adverts hanging in the window to notify customers she just shrugged it off and said "it would make MTN look stupid". Is this not false advertising or am i just being fussy? I am not sure that changing from Vodacom to MTN is my best option anymore.
