Products advertised on sale not sold at sale price

I wanted to purchase a product that was advertised in their sale paper, which is advertised nationally. However when I got to the counter the scanned price did not reflect the sale price but its original price. The product was the exact same product as in the advertisement. When I told the cashier this, she together with other staff told me that they put their sale products in a separate section. But why should where the products are kept matter when the product is advertised to be on sale, in a sale paper that is national and in every clicks store and also put online. The product was the exact same one that was advertised, and the advertisement did not say that it is only for products that were kept separately. SO why advertise that a product is on sale if they arent willing to sell it at the sale price!
