Delay of line transfe

About 4 weeks ago we phoned Telkom stating that we'd be moving to a new area and that we'd like a line transfer to the new house. They agreed saying it would take a few days. We've been at the new house for almost 3 weeks now and still nothing from their side. When we phone, they keep saying that it's been 'escalated' and there's a rush on it but still nothing, stating today that they still can't give us a date. How is this possible when I see their vehicles in the area standing around at shops? I feel like they are delaying so that they only have to do it next year.

Furthermore, beyond the change of area code, I fail to see what can take this long as there was previously a connection and thus infrastructure is already in place.

The lax attitude with which Telkom treats new and existing customers is something unacceptable as they hold monopoly over this sector and with such no other help is readily available.

A speedy resolution is welcomed.
