Telkom - always disappointing!

I recently moved into a new house in Muizenburg. The previous tenants had an ADSL line. I called Telkom and they tell me that there is no ADSL infrastructure in the area? I then go home and speak to my opposite neighbour, guess what? He has ADSL. Just wondering does he live in a different area?
I then decide to have my phone line activated and order the adsl at a later date. After getting some info regarding the previous owners adsl ine I call telkom back and they tell me that because there is no infrastructure in the area the order can take up to 3 months. Now I wonder to myself are these fools planning on building a new exchange so that I can have internet? And if there is no infrastructure in my area where is my neighbours getting ADSL connectivity from?
