Unable to cancel mobile contract

I have been trying to cancel a contract which expired at the end of October 2013. After going to the satellite office I was informed that the only way to cancel the contract was to fill in the cancellation forms and 24 hours was needed for the cancellation. The forms were submitted on the 21st Nov. 2013. When I received my statement on the 12th December 2013 I contacted the call centre to establish when the contract will be terminated to which I received the response that the last statement will be in January because 20 working days are needed to cancel the contract. This means that I will be paying for 3 months for a service that I am not using. I requested confirmation the the contract will be cancelled at the end of the month which no confirmation could be given. I asked for confirmation that my forms had been received. That could also not be given. When I asked to speak to someone of higher authority I was told that they were all in a meeting and was not available. I have asked for a manager to call me back. This is just blatant abuse which it seems that they have inherited from their years of having a monopoly in the country.
