After 2 weeks of an upgrade my cellphone just died. I took it to MTN to check the problem and I told them that I suspected software failure because the handset had a tendency of shutting itself off. They took the handset in to check the problem, but upon my return they told me that due to my negligence to repair the handset is above its economical value and that I must buy myself a new handset and continue to pay them their contract. They mentioned that the handset was damaged because of too much electricity used in charging burning some wires in the charging port, funny though because all other handset in the house were never affected. I took the handset to another repair center to get a second opinion and their report indicated it was software failure. Now I am stuck with a dead handset that I am expected to pay MTN for the next 24 months, and I only had it for 2 weeks.
