Seriously Mislead!!! Wasting my hard earned money

Not sure how to make a long story short but I'm going to try... Basically went for my upgrade at - MTN Tygervalley - close to the end of last month. Round about lunchtime on a Friday. Took a bigger package (from top up 200 to 500) too because I SPECIFICALLY asked the guy helping me if I can buy data using the airtime I get with the contract. I spend more time using the internet than making phone calls. He assured me yes I CAN. More than once by the way. This is the ONLY reason I took the bigger package. I'm not irresponsible with my money. I need to know how it's being spent. Turns out the airtime is not transferable (USELESS TO ME) so I took the bigger package under false pretenses. So now I can't downgrade my contract and cant cancel either unless I pay out the full contract! Don't see how this is my fault when I was seriously mislead. Icing on the cake, I was told the guy I dealt with worked for MTN for 7 years and will apparently never say something like that! Seriously?? I'm honestly not that stupid and he certainly wasn't a robot! After all this I NEED TO CHANGE NETWORKS IF THIS IS HOW MTN DEALS MISLEADS THEIR CUSTOMERS AND DOESN'T DO ANYTHING TO FIX IT.
