I am a Vodacom customer. I took my handset in as it was broken. I made it clear that it was not insured and that I was interested in buying a new handset cash if it could not be repaired. The handset was sent away and I was told I would get feedback after 7 working days. As the handset was not insured I could not get a lone unit which was fine. After 7 working days without feedback I phoned for an update. I was then told that it was not 7 days from bringing in the phone but 7 -14 days from the date the technician RECEIVES the handset. It seems to take a week to be sent from the Vodacom shop to the technician. I was also told that they don't repair Iphone handsets but will only give a quote, after 7 14 days, to buy a new one. When I asked what the purpose was of waiting all this time only to told it was not going to be repaired, the call center agent said it was so that they could then give me quote for a replacement. 1 - I know the phone is broken 2 - Vodacom does not repair Iphones 3 - I need a new handset. I queried the logic of having to wait 3-4 weeks to get a quote for a new phone at which point the agent disconnected the call. No one has phoned me after that.
