BIS Lite never worked at all since activation

I have a Blackberry 9810 Torch. The full BIS was working till last month when my contract was expired. On Monday (18/11/13), I took the option to activate the BIS lite on prepaid, since then I had no connection to BIS, the edge remains in small letters and the 3G shows on the phone. Made over 15 calls to MTN support and even went into the store. They did the normal troubleshooting steps Sms' and phone calls still works normally but there is still no connection to BIS or having the Blackberry icons showing. Even had my phone reset to factory settings and phone software updated, still no connection to BIS. Apparently my number is lossing connection to the apn blackberry, they could see it as they were troubleshooting my number and the agents say there is nothing that can be done to change that as the BIS lite shows activated on the sim. I even had my sim in another Blackberry and still no connection to BIS. The agents confirmed that the data is still at the full amount since Monday. I am extremely disappointed in the BIS lite and I would want my money back as I am not get the service that was paid for.
