I phoned the mtn call centre 808 to make an inquiry about my data usage. I bought a data bundle on Wednesday for 100 MB and got the bonus 50MB with it. only 2.25 MB pf that has been used. Since yesterday morning when i use facebook and whatsapp instead of depleting my data bundle it is depleting my airtime. Initially the call centre agent told me that there was a technical error on the mtn side and he would escalate my query to the technical department. A few minutes later he tells me that his supervisor told him that it is normal for my airtime to be depleted without making any calls and for my data bundle not to be used up for data. How normal is that? It is not for the first time that i buy data bundles and unless mtn has changed the way they do things without notifying their customers then i know know my data bundle, instead of my airtime must be used for data transactions, especially whatsapp. I didn't get any joy from the call centre instead they try and ridicule me by telling me that there is nothing wrong when i know that there is.
