Telkom is trying to rip my mom off. They have send her to debt collectors after she spent months paying for the landline that was not working. I myself have tried so many times to call Telkom and reported the faulty line and they did nothing to fix the line. Now they sending a demand letter of R1100.00 after 3-4 years the line has been cut. She is a pensioner who gets paid R1200.00. if you want to recover R1100 from a pensioner after so many years she has been paying services for the line that was not working, how possible is that? Maybe I need to report this also to ICASA and hear if she is liable to pay for the line that was not in use after how long we have been reporting it? to even put threats of settlement of 15 days to a pensioner?
