Misleading information re contract expiry date

MTN Call Centre 808 misinformed me about the expiry date of my contracts. Based on the information was my Black Berry 9900 handed in for repairs and upon following up after a couple of weeks did the technical team advise that my contracts have expired beginning of October '13 and phone will not be repaired. Contracts upgraded and am not sure of my billing or contract status. Black Berry 9900 was returned with earphone port damaged and it was in working order when phone was handed in.
