I was due for an upgrade. Excitedly I went to the Sandton store. Everything went well I received the phone I wanted and signed the paper work. However, they did not have sim-cards for the sim-swap I needed to do but I was assured I could go to any MTN store to do that. I went to Benmore. Upon getting there the first time I was told they cant and I should come back the next day. I went back the next day and they still could'nt do it apparently the Sandton store had never registered the upgrade. I ask if they can phone the Sandton store and explain upon which I was told "we don't do that we are a franchise you have to do it". So I had to phone them and explain technical things I know nothing about because MTN stores do not help their clients sort out problems caused by MTN. Of course I explained it incorrectly. The sandton store claimed they were offline and I asked why they did not inform me and was told "we don't follow up on whether upgrades are registered we know there is a problem when the client phones us". So try 3 to do a sim-swap was again unsuccessful. I was then informed that I can do a sim-swap went back a 4th time and still couldn't do it. It is now day 3!
