Vodacom
Purchased SIM inactive

Telecommunications

I have purchased a twin SIM on Saturday at Vodashop Centurion Lake together with a new handset and was promised that the SIM would be active after 12:00 on Sunday. I had all my documentation available. The new phone was inactive after the promised time as the SIM is not recognised by the network. I contacted Vodacom on Sunday evening, but their systems were offline and they could not help. I did it again on Monday evening and they said they could not help me, only the shop where I bought the SIM could help. I phoned them and they confirmed that the request was sent in to activate the SIM. It is now Tuesday evening and I am still off - SIM card not on network.

When I am promised to be on line within 24 hours, I EXPECT 24 hours, not 24 days. I have to test the phone within 7 days, but am not able to do so properly, as I am not on the network and can not use the phone for what it was purchased namely COMMUNICATION. Cameras etc do work. I need the 7 days testing to be extended from the time I can get on the network, not from the time I received the dead phone.

Most of all - I want to be on the network to COMMUNICATE.
