Purchased a Samsung Galaxy that doesnt work

Telecommunications

I had purchased a Samsung Galaxy at Durban airport on the Sunday, when I got back to Middelburg I went to Vodashop to request a sim swop. The Vodacom server was down and was therefore registered the Monday morning. I went back to Vodashop and I was told to leave the phone off for 24hrs as it was requesting a Network Pin. Tuesday morning I switched the phone on and the same problem was still there. I had to get a Network pin number to unlock the phone. We than contacted the call centre again and I was told by the operator that the phone was not registered to a network. When I asked how can they sell a phone that is not registered to a network at a Vodashop, I was than told I would have to wait an extra 24hrs for something to be done about the situation and that the phone was not at fault but the sim card was. Little does the call centre know my sim works in an Iphone, which clearly tells me they have no clue as to what products they are selling at registered Vodacom outlets.
