Handset doesn't fullfill specs we asked fo

Telecommunications

I took my son to MTN on Monday 30 September 2013 for his upgrade. He considered getting the Samsung Galaxy Xcover 2 but first needed to clarify the specs with the salesperson. First off, the Samsung website, which has subsequently been updated and changed, indicated that the phone has 4gb memory. The salesperson, Sandy, confirmed that the handset is NFC enabled. However, when my son checked the handset he realised that only 1gb memory is available and that the phone isn't NFC enabled. But this wasn't a problem because Sandy said that if we're unhappy with the handset we could replace it for another Samsung within 7 days. So back to the store on day 6. Only to be told by the manager that they only replace faulty handsets. Sandy admitted in front of Shihaam that she used the word unhappy - not faulty - and she also admitted to not checking whatever system they should check to verify the specs. Shihaam then said that she'd speak to Samsung. She got back to me a week later to say that there is nothing they can do. So we are stuck with a useless phone. No apology. No compensation. And i don't know how to escalate the issue.
