How to claim a lost phone

I lost my phone on 5th October 2013 then reported it on the 7th at mtn store where they told me to do aviddavit and call mtn insurence department on 083 123 6084 but knowing that i cant get help from this no i asked them to call they told me they have been trying the number but coudnt get help. my question is how will get help if they cant get and am paying for he phone i dont have. whats the alternative of claiming my phone if there is something please call me on 073 280 5139
