When will we get 3G coverage

I got a data simcard thru afrihost which runs off MTN network. I would like to know why do residents in Queenstown - Victoria Park still have EDGE and not 3g coverage at this day and age. I cannot use my LTE ready device to its full capacity. When will this network be upgraded?
