Pathetic Service from iStore and MTN

I took the MTN ipad contract in June 2012. When I took my device in in August 2013, as it wasn't responding and kept shutting down, the iStore technical staff tried to assist me with upgrading software etc. After it shut down in front of the staff, on my third visit to get it fixed, they said its a device problem and that the 1 year warranty had expired and it was for my own account to repair it.

I took a 2 year contract with MTN so how is it possible that I should pay for a further 9 months when the device, through no fault of mine, is not working. I approached MTN (who I have been with since 1995 and am now reconsidering changing my provider) who explained that the iStore staff should have explained to me that there is only a 1 year warranty on the device. They definitely never did this otherwise I would have taken insurance for the remaining term. This was also not offered to me as it is always when I get a new cell. They then passed the buck and tell me its the iStores responsibility as this wasn't explained to me.

Bottom line - I have a faulty iPad (through no fault of mine), MTN and iStore are passing the buck between them and I am in the middle with NO SERVICE from either!
