Not living up to "next-day delivery" promise

My daughter ordered a phone from Vodacom (08217844) on an upgrade of her contract on Sunday 13 October 2013. The consultant on the phone told her that they were behind on their deliveries and that she could expect delivery within 4 - 5 working days. She ordered a Sony Experia V on a Top-Up 135. She just received a call from Vodacom, informing her that they had no stock and would only be receiving stock on 25 October and she could expect delivery anytime after the 27th. What happened to the "Next day delivery" promise and how is it that 4 days after placing the order, they only discover they don't have stock? Don't Vodacom have an up to date stock system for online/telephonic orders? This is shocking and unacceptable considering their promise is displayed in big bold letters on their website. I would appreciate any assistance you can offer in this matter.
