Slow modem response

When renewing my 3G modem I complained about the slow response speed of the modem as I often lost work due to the slow response and the connection being lost or timed out. I was advised to call 082 1958 for them to investigate the problem. The person who answered advised that Durbanville was in a poor reception area and that they were not going to do anything to rectify the problem, basically the attitude was that I would have to live with the problem. A recent speed test indicated the download speed as 2, 06 Mbps and upload speed as 1.08 Mbps. If I had been told this when i renewed my modem contract I would have opted to purchase an ADSL line and use my Blackberry as a modem when away from home. I feel that as Durbanville is a growth area Vodacom should make an effort to improve their service to this area
