After being throttled by MWEB, I asked for the policy detailing how the throttling is implemented and lifted. I asked for specifics for their vague statements of "standard usage" and asked them to quantify what was considered "standard" or "non-standard" usage. I was told that this information was not available.

I then asked when my account would be unthrottled and, again, got a vague response.

This is horrendous customer support! The policy implemented to throttle/unthrottle an account is built purely on quantitative measurements. These are clearly available and must be made available to users who are looking to stay within the boundaries of the policy while maximising their ISP experience. It is simply unacceptable!

To add insult to injury, it was suggested that I upgrade to the 2MB line for the increased thresholds. As my physical line is a 1MB line, this throttling threshold would be the only benefit by the upgrade. However, when I asked what the differences in thresholds were & how would I see the difference, I was again told that this information was not available!

Shocking policy and service! As with many others, it looks like its time to more to Afrihost!!
