Slow Internet due to the Throttling Policy

I was on a 2Mb ADSL Uncapped account and after downloading more than 200gb of data I was throttled to an unusable speed on my Mweb ADSL account.. I phoned Mweb and they explained to me that my account is throttled as I used too much data.

They insisted that this is written in their policy and the the system does it automatically when you reach a certain limit. The limit is calculated over the last 30 days. The person I spoke to at Mweb said it is my own responsibility to monitor my account and ensure that i don't go over the limit.

My biggest problem with the whole thing was that this is not explained under the product specs on their web site. I was unaware of this limit. They do not tell you that when you join, and they don't explain it anywhere on their web site. So how on earth do they expect their customers to be aware of it and to monitor their usage?

I realized I am not going to get anywhere with Mweb, and I changed to Afrihost, as they have an Uncapped Unthrottled Unshaped account for about the same price as the Mweb account with the throttling problem.

I requested that Mweb explain the throttling in detail in the product specs on their web site, let's see if they do it.
