Can't block my number afte

Telecommunications

On 26th January 2013, I was mugged in a Kwazulu Natal shopping center. These people my Blackberry. Upon returning to my temporary accomodation I phoned Vodacom customer service. I was left on the phone for 45 minutes waiting for someone to answer the phone. On the second attempt I finally got through and spoke to an agent. As my belongings are in storage I have no access to my IMEI number. Consequently the agent informed me that I would have to fax through a blacklisting form before they could do anything about it, he would then SMS me a reference number. What part of my phone is didn't register? Annoyed I went to the Sanlam Center shop to see what could be done. They refused to help me saying, that I had to give the IMEI number. Are you serious? Some criminal is having a party at my expense and this is how you treat me? The consultant at the shop then recommended I do a sim swap. She then proceeded to take my debit card out of my sight, then had me enter my pin in plain view of other people, then disappeared with it. Are you serious? Since when can one not have a phone and sim locked telephonically? Safe to say I'm most unimpressed.
